Brian Grazer … excited to produce the Oscars, excited Billy Crystal is hosting … not so excited to answer questions about the comments Brett Ratner made that led to his stepping down as Oscars producer.

Although Grazer wouldn’t come to Ratner’s defense, he did say he saw Brett at a wedding yesterday and had dinner with him last week.

Penn State — Fans Show Love for Joe Paterno

Tailgating is underway outside Beaver Stadium, and the Penn State fans are showing the love for their legendary ex-coach, Joe Paterno.

According to an onlooker, several fans are sporting t-shirts, decorating cardboard cutouts (see below) and carrying signs in support of JoePa . So far, we’re told the crowd is well-behaved.

As we previously reported, FBI and police responded to a bomb threat made last night — but nothing was found.

A plane just flew overhead (see below) with a sign that, according to multiples witnesess, reads: “Joe is so dirty he needs a shower.”

Trust us, that’s what it says.

Arnold’s Mistress & Love Child — Picking Up the Pizzas

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s baby mama Mildred Baena is living large with their son, Joseph … dining this afternoon on pizza and wine at a California Pizza Kitchen in Tarzana, CA.

Mother and son ordered a BBQ chicken pizza, crispy mac and cheese, half a Caesar salad, and another specialty pizza.

We don’t know the identity of the man in the plaid shirt, but we do know that Mildred’s older son was sitting to her right. The waitress told other employees that the older son was hitting on her, asking if she’d go to the beach with him. She says she declined.

And, the waitress was grousing that she only got a 10% tip.

Arnold’s Love Child — MISSING from Graduation

Arnold Schwarzenegger’s love child was conspicuously absent from his own middle school graduation on Friday — and we’re told, it’s all because his family wanted to protect him.

Sources close to Mildred Baena tell TMZ, she pulled her 14-year-old son out of school last month — soon after the story broke that Arnold was his real father.

According to sources, photographers had started to camp outside the Bakersfield middle school where Arnold’s son was a student — and Mildred decided to yank him out … to protect him from the media.

His graduation ceremony took place Friday morning — and his name was even on the program — but we’re told he wasn’t present … because the family didn’t want him parading around in public.

We’re told the family desperately wants the whole scandal to blow over ASAP — so their lives can return to normal.

‘X Factor’ to Cheryl Cole: For Money, Not Love

Sources at “X Factor” tell TMZ … FOX and Fremantle (the producers of the show) are trying to get Cheryl Cole back on the program, a week after giving her her walking papers … but it’s more about the bottom line than about loving Cheryl.

Our sources say when producers told Cheryl she wasnt right for the U.S. version of “X Factor,” they tried to put her on the UK version of the show. Cheryl’s managers wanted £2.5 million and producers thought it was too much, so the deal went south.

We’re told Cheryl was due to get paid around .5 million for the U.S. show — about what Paula Abdul and LA Reid are making — but she has not decided whether to accept and come back. The whole situation becomes even messier when you take into account Nicole Scherzinger — who was originally hired as a host, but moved to being a judge when Cheryl was axed.

Our sources say Cheryl’s deal with the U.S version is “pay or play” — meaning she gets paid whether she does the show or not. We’re told execs at FOX — and especially at Fremantle — dont want to lose the money … so it’s better to have her on the show than not.

Arnold’s Love Child — NO DNA TEST!!!

Arnold Schwarzenegger concedes he’s Mildred “Patty” Baena’s baby daddy, but TMZ has learned there was NEVER a DNA test establishing paternity.

Multiple sources with direct knowledge of the baby saga tell TMZ … Arnold never demanded a DNA test. We’ve also learned Baena never took steps to establish paternity through DNA.

As for why Arnold was so sure he was the father … our sources say Baena’s husband was not even in the United States when the baby was conceived. He returned to the U.S. just days before the boy was born.

By the time the boy was a toddler, it became “physically obvious” that Arnold was the dad, one source says. In fact, we’re told several members of the Maria Shriver/Arnold Schwarzenegger staff sometimes confused Arnold’s youngest son, Christopher, with Baena’s child.
