Things were different back then. After their season, they switched the rules so the runner-up’s CD could come out BEFORE the winner’s (which is why Clay’s was released first). But for the first season, it was required that everyone wait until the winner’s album is released. Kelly put out “Thankful” in April, and Justin’s came out in June.
