David sings “Imagine” at the Hollywood Tree Lighting ceremony, Dec. 6, 2008. I missed the music intro because they didn’t introduce the song – he just came out right after a video.

Everyone knows The Beatles sucked at singing (and I’m a Beatles fan), They just had very good songs.
David can actually sing, and I think this is the best cover of the song there is.
OMG CONGRATULATIONS u are an idiot, beatles suck at singing?? you should go and look to their songs and also check the list of best singers of world paul is number 9 and john number 3, and well david archuletta is not even in the list you know why? because he is nothing compared to the beatles, i wont say he cant sing cuz he obviously he can but better than beatles? never, he should just sing his songs if he doesnt want the crowd to boo him or at least make a good cover…srry for bad english
The beatles are known for writing good songs, it is quite clear they suck at singing. Why not let someone who can actually sing redo their masterpieces?

i dont blame them for booing, this kid turned the best song of all times in some pop ballad shit…..its not that i dont like his voice or his songs he just CANT DO THAT its profanation….srry for bad english

one more quick saying. i watched another video of this and i absolutely hate to say it but on guy was like “you suck” then the booing started right after that. Those guys need to seriously show some respect!

No one was booing David. It was an outdoor mall, and there was a lot of activity around – I don’t remember what was going on in the background.
By the way, what’s up with all the “boooos” from the crowd, especially at the beginning?? I’m curious if anyone has any insight to the reason. Maybe someone who was there could shed a little light on this. Because I don’t understand how anyone could boo him singing this song.
Everyone talks about the purity of his voice, and how he can mesmerize audiences, and they’re right. John Lennon might have been the most significant song writer of the last century, with Imagine being his “crown jewel.” David’s voice with all its power and dynamics captures the song as it was meant to be sung. However its his innocence that does it for me. Only a child can dream and believe that a perfect world exists, and its that emotion that makes DA’s version of “Imagine” work.
